Krome Studios, Australia’s largest developer, has made an undisclosed number of layoffs across its Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne locations.
CEO Robert Walsh cited declining game sales and the struggling economy as reasons for the cutbacks at the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Wii/PS2/PSP) and Viva Pinata: Party Animals (Xbox 360) developer, which was formed in 1999 and plays home to over 400 staff.

PS3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has surpassed one million sales “in just a couple weeks on the market,” according to publisher Sony.
"Uncharted 2 has become the highest rated current exclusive action adventure game on any platform with a Metacritic score of 96," Sony Computer Entertainment"s senior VP of strategic business development, Phil Rosenberg, said at the BMO Capital Markets Digital Entertainment Conference.

PSP was the bestselling hardware platform in Japan during the week ended November 1.
Including first day sales of PSPgo, which launched in the country on the final day of Media Create’s weekly tracking period, PSP hardware sales topped 64,000 units.
Nintendo’s DSi remained the most popular individual system, ahead of PS3, while Wii slipped to fifth place thanks to PSPgo’s debut.

PSP - 34,911 (32,865)

Over 60,000 PS3 Slim units have been sold in the country since the console launched on September 3, the platform holder told GameSpot.
