Auto Assault closure won't affect other NCsoft titles

NCsoft has told GamesIndustry.biz that the closure of Auto Assault was purely to do with player numbers and will not have an effect on any of its current or future MMO titles.

It emerged yesterday that Auto Assault will be closed down at the end of August.

"Over the past months, player numbers have decreased to a point where the company has made the decision to close the servers," said a spokesperson for the company.

"The closure of Auto Assault does not effect NCsoft's current or in-development titles."

Earlier this year NCsoft revealed profits were down by KRW 50 billion (EUR 41 million) with the publisher blaming a one-time write-off for Auto Assault and rising investments in new products.

NCsoft has a number of titles due for release in the coming months including expansion pack Guild Wars: Eye of the North and new IP Tabula Rasa.
