Atari Posts $71 Million Loss for 2006

Atari announced today that it will suffer a loss of $71.3 million ($5.29 a share) for the fiscal year ending March 31. This is comparable to the loss of $69 million ($5.36 a share) during fiscal 05. They also reported that revenue for the year ending March 31 was David Radd21.6 million, more than 40% less than last year.
This delayed fiscal report was required to finalize a $54.1 million ($4.02 a share) "impairment of goodwill" payment. Losses would have otherwise been David Radd7.2 million (David Radd.28 a share). Recently the company said goodbye to longtime director Bruno Bonnell and slashed its workforce by 20%.
