Double Fusion announced today partnerships with NHN USA's ijji.com and Gala-Net, which operates the online game portal gpotato.com.
ijji.com comes from NHN USA, the North American arm of South Korean online game publishing giant NHN. ijji.com hosts casual to more core-targeted games and has community features similar to those that have found major success on Asian online gaming destinations.
Double Fusion's multi-year deal with ijji.com will bring in-game ads to the website's "free-to-play" games, beginning with Gunbound, Gunz, Rounders Poker and Soldier Front. ijji.com's games are ad- and micropayment-supported.
The Gala-Net partnership will bring in-game ads to the online car combat racer Upshift StrikeRacer, a game which launches in August on gpotato.com. Gala-Net also operates gpotato.com under the free-to-play model.
Double Fusion CEO Jonathan Epstein addressed the potential intrusiveness of in-game ads, which is a common concern among gamers. “Double Fusion is always looking to increase our network with games within which advertising is not only a natural fit, but where it enhances gameplay," he said in a statement.
