Destroy All Humans Cancelled for PS3
THQ has confirmed that the upcoming PS3 version of Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon has been cancelled due to "development issues", reports Shacknews. The game will now be an Xbox 360 exclusive.
Speculation regarding the fate of the PS3 version bred after the game’s most recent trailer only referenced the 360 version of the game.
The Path of Furon will be developer Sandblast Games’ final work, scheduled for release in America from December 1. The news follows THQ’s decision to dissolve a string of development arms such as Helixe, Locomotive Games and Paradigm, due to financial difficulties which were brought to light as the firm announced a net loss of Rob Crossley15.3 million in its Q2 earnings release.
This is not the first time a THQ-published game has found friction with Sony hardware. Speaking to Gamespot last year, Kaos Studios’ producer Joe Halper suggested that the "the Unreal Engine has some challenges with the PS3”, before the development team cancelled the PS3 version of Frontlines: Fuel of War in January.
