Not everyone thinks the Majesco"s Cooking Mama is super-cute.

Recently, animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) strongly criticized the cooking-themed game for its use of animal-derived ingredients.

But Cooking Mama publisher Majesco, likely seeing a promotional opportunity, replied in defense of its prize series and the latest installment, Cooking Mama World Kitchen for Wii, which launched this week.

A statement from Majesco read, "Mama wants people to know that World Kitchen includes 51 recipes from around the world, ranging from vegetarian fare like miso soup and rice cakes to international delicacies like ginger pork and octopus dumplings."

Majesco said there are over 25 vegetarian recipes in World Kitchen.

The firm also admitted that Cooking Mama enjoys a nice slab of meat every now and then, but "fully supports the humane treatment of animals."

Said the fake Cooking Mama, "I would never put rat in my Ratatouille. Like any accomplished cook, I create my recipes to appeal to a broad range of tastes and preferences. My only goal is to ensure you leave the table well fed."
