Crytek Moves into Seoul
Crytek, the creators of Crysis and Far Cry, have opened up a subsidiary branch in Seoul, South Korea.
The new subsidiary, Crytek Ltd, has already begun operations and has the primary goal of extending Crytek’s business into Asian markets, beginning with engine licensing. The company will be led by Young Mok Park, who was formerly a head of business strategy at NCSoft.
Crytek’s managing director, Faruk Yerli, said of the new group, “Establishing an office in Seoul was the logical step to expand our business in Korea as well as giving our engine licensees in this region the best possible support, through direct access to a dedicated local team.”
Park added, “Crytek’s Korean office will take a key role in increasing the quality of service to CryENGINE clients. By establishing the Korean office, Crytek has shown its commitment and strong interest in Korean game companies as well as the Korean gaming industry.”
