EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 teed off with the biggest launch week for any game in the series to take the UK chart top spot.

The game launched across five different platforms, with sales of the Xbox 360 version accounting for 33 percent of all units shifted. The PS3 and Wii versions accounted for 32 percent and 28 percent of the total sold respectively, with the remainder for PS2 and PSP.

Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit both dropped one place to second and third, followed by Take-Two’s Carnival: Funfair Games and Wii Play, Nintendo’s third game in the all formats top five.

THQ’s Big Beach Sports was a non-mover at No7, while the publisher’s movie tie-in Wall-E dropped one place to No10. Sandwiched between the pair was Microsoft’s Xbox 360 exclusive Too Human, the second highest new entry at No8, and Beijing 2008, down six places to No9.

EA’s The Sims 2: Apartment Life narrowly missed out on a top ten debut, entering the chart at No11.
