MMOABC: Can you tell us a little bit about Jumpgate Evolution?

Jumpgate Evolution is a space action massively multiplayer online game (MMO). Players get to choose from one of the three nations – Solrain, Quantar and Octavius to begin their experience. In addition, players get to experience other MMO features such as a player driven economy including mining, crafting, auction house, and mail.

Also, there is epic space combat, challenging missions and tons of equipment to give experienced MMO gamers a deep and rewarding experience but yet have accessible mechanism for new players.

MMOABC: How does Jumpgate Evolution differentiate itself from other MMORPG games?

The main differentiation factor is the combat experience we bring into the space genre. With Jumpgate, we really wanted to bring back the things we like from the all time classics like Elite, X-wing vs Tie-fighter and Privateer to a MMO environment.

We also wanted to make the game play much more accessible for most gamers, which is why we are focusing on having the game playable on low minimum system requirements, playable with a mouse and easy learning curve.



MMOABC: Online hacking and spamming are widely evident in the MMORPG realm, how does Jumpgate Evolution handle these disruptions?

Hacking and spamming are issues extremely important to us and we believe that it’s not something that can be fixed in one single pass. Of course, we have implemented some tools prior to testing and based on how our players interact with the system, we will iterate further to insure that our players have a good time in game without harassment. Prevention is an online process to ensure players are getting enjoying a good game.

MMOABC: Many MMORPG operators/publishers are currently hosting many games in different geographic regions. Some are "free to play" while others are "pay to play." What is your take on this?

We are currently working with our partners from different territories on business models that will best cater to their players.  This is something that we will announce publicly closer to release. 

MMOABC: Are you guys planning to do any Jumpgate Evolution contest events in the next coming weeks or months?

Of course!  Our community team is very dedicated to ensuring that our community has fun.  We have quite a few plans for different contests and participants not only win beta slots but other goodies.  Keep an eye on the official website www.jumpgateevolution.com for new information.



MMOABC: Will the Jumpgate Evolution development team be attending any Video/MMORPG gaming events for 2008?

Oh yes. Event attendance is not only fun for the development team, but also a great way to meet anyone who is interested about Jumpgate Evolution.  In the past, we have held “Meet & Greet” sessions at locations where our developers were. We will be announcing shortly of our next event so check out our website for the updates.
