PS3 Firmware 2.41 Goes Live
Having launched a major PS3 update sporting new XMB and Trophy features last week, Sony was swiftly forced to pull firmware 2.40 for "further testing" after numerous users complained of consoles locking up after downloading it.
The problems have now been resolved, according to Sony, which has released a fix in the form of PS3 firmware 2.41.
“As many of you know, we released PS3 firmware update v2.40 last week, but had to take it offline temporarily because, for a limited number of users, the XMB wouldn’t display after the update was installed,” wrote PlayStation Network director Eric Lempel in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
“We want to extend our apologies to the PlayStation community for any inconvenience,” he added.
Those who managed to successfully install firmware 2.40 will need to update to version 2.41 to gain access to the PlayStation Network and PlayStation Store.
