Capcom to Establish French Subsidiary
The company, which already operates subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and Germany, said in a statement that the expansion of its overseas sales network is one of its "highest priorities”.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Capcom Europe, Capcom Entertainment France will be headed by CEO Hiroshi Tobisawa.
“The company believes that more sales bases are needed to achieve faster growth by capturing market share outside Japan, where the market for home videogame software is expected to continue to expand," the publisher said.
“Capcom is particularly interested in capturing a greater share of the videogame software market in Europe, which has recently been growing rapidly. To accomplish this, Capcom must improve profitability by establishing a direct sales organization and reinforce its marketing organization at bases in Europe.”
Capcom doesn’t expect the new subsidiary to greatly impact its operating results, noting that it will have “little effect on non-consolidated and consolidated performance”.
