ImageWhile Sony has engaged in discussions with various movie studios with regards to providing content for its soon-to-launch video download store, no partnerships have been agreed to date, according to a Variety report.

"Sources at numerous major studios confirmed to me that while they have all talked to Sony, none have yet made a deal,” writes reporter Ben Fritz.

“The only one that"s definitely on board so far is, for obvious reasons, Sony Pictures."

Fritz says that in addition to standard movie rentals Sony has been discussing the possibility of enabling downloads to be transferred from the PS3 to the PSP, which he suggests could slow down dealings with prospective content providers.

Microsoft already offers a variety of media content over Xbox Live from partners including major movie studios Warner Bros, Paramount and MGM, as well as a host of television networks.
