Nintendo: More for Core at E3
Speaking to GamePro, Nintendo of America PR director Marc Franklin said the game maker "will be announcing several new titles that core gamers will be interested in around the time of E3."
Franklin added, "The clear majority of people waiting in line outside retailers on Sunday mornings to buy their Wii consoles are core gamers."
So what could these new games be? I"m kind of pulling for a new F-Zero or Pilotwings, although there is no evidence that suggests those are the new titles. GamePro points to speculation about a new Zelda game or a Kid Icarus remake.
But how about something brand new from Nintendo? That"d be nice too.
Another thing that comes to mind is Nintendo"s definition of "core." Mario Kart Wii is a game that has appealed to core and casual. Same with Brawl. I"d say that you could consider both of those either core or mass market.
Maybe the games are really hardcore. Maybe Franklin is talking about a new M-rated first-person shooter? Maybe a tough-as-nails top-down scrolling shoot-em-up? Maybe it"s a MUD???
Doubt it. But I"m counting on something good.
