Turbine Confirms Console Project
Turbine communications director Adam Mersky told Kotaku that the studio is "actively developing a title for console" following its recent Time Warner-led $40 million cash injection.
"We"ve hired over 60 people since the beginning of the year," he said, adding that a further 40 positions related to the firm’s console project are still to be filled.
Mersky revealed that Turbine is also exploring open world environments and user-generated content.
"We"re working on tech to let people... enable self evolving worlds," he said. "The idea is, we have these immersive, beautiful 3D worlds and they"re designed by professional artists - but how can we let people create content in those... without "suburban sprawl," allow them to create gameplay environments."
