Hilarious Wii Dishwashing Game Parody

The video starts with a couple sitting on a sofa when they get a knock at their door. Two guys then introduce them to Nintendo’s Wii, aping that early Wii advert (was it the first?), pictured above. “Wii would like to play,” one of them says. The man of the house excitedly grabs the Wiimote on offer and fires up Dishwashing Champion on a Wii.
He watches as his girlfriend gets cracking on the game. At first you imagine him thinking, ‘Why doesn’t she get this excited about washing up in the kitchen?’ but then he quickly gets up and joins in the action, frenetically waving his arms around, building up his “rampage meter” in “all new berserker mode.” Next thing you know the whole family and all the neighbors are round joining in the mayhem. The game doesn’t have cheap production values either, allowing players to “explore new worlds” via Egyptian and Amazonian backdrops to the sink at which they’re washing up.
The multi-tiered spot pokes fun at both the banality and the addictiveness of some Wii games. You must have had that feeling on occasion: why is this crap fun? If you’re anything like me, your little white box got used extensively for Mario Galaxy a while back and now for Mario Kart, but Wii can be great fun, especially washing dishes in multiplayer.
Go check it out. It will make you laugh. Promise.
