The free community platform, which supports voice chat, friends lists, file transfers and other features, has hit 10 million registered users, Xfire announced Wednesday.

Xfire launched in 2004, and has experienced rapid adoption.

"Our 10 million users make up an incredibly active and dedicated community, and they logged over 16,000 years on Xfire in the month of April alone," said Xfire general manager Adam Boyden in a statement.

Xfire makes its revenues from advertising dollars. The platform is used primarily by the 18-34 year old male demographic, and supports over 1,200 PC games, according to the company.
