According to Private Equity Hub, the Westwood, Mass.-based MMORPG developer and publisher netted the funding following Series C financing led by Granite Global Ventures. Granite managing partner Hani Nada has taken a seat on the Turbine board.

Previous investors Highland Capital Partners, Polaris Venture Partners, Tudor Ventures and Columbia Capital also took part in the funding round, which brings Turbine"s total venture capital financing to around $90 million.

The report also speculates that Turbine, which has to date focused on subscription-based MMO role-playing games like Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeon & Dragons Online, could be preparing to bring some of its titles to consoles or even mobile platforms. The company is expected to make an announcement about its future plans in the coming weeks.
