Sword of the new world is a whole new universe in mmorpg's, because of it's unique features among the rest of mmo's.
One of the best, is the MCC (multi character control), which allows you to control 3 characters at one, instead of 1. This might not seem to be new, since lots of RPG's (say xenogears FF series etc etc) use parties, which are set of 3 characters. Then, why SOTNW? Well, character control is quite different, because you have to take control of each one individually if you need some strategy, or just move them all at once if you want to get something done faster. The thing is, when you pvp, fight a boss or strong monsters, you'll need to be able to coordinate them all into a good strategy to master the game.
The other one, is the family concept. You can recruit NPC's throughout the game, which join your family and have their own unique skills. That way, you can have lots of characters, use and combine them according to your strategies (say, you can have your pvp team, raid team etc) and that way the game becomes quite addictive, trying to lvl up as much characters as you can to lvl up your family lvl.
Try sotnw! It's unique gameplay and awesome graphics wil make you love the game and have fun!

A GREAT MMORPG game dealing with the time period where guns are being manufactured. This is one of the most unique MMO i have ever played, this game requires a computer with AT LEAST 512mb ram (Which is very nice considering the nice graphics in the game). Though a recommended computer would be around 1G ram or more.
This unique game allows MCC (Multi Character Control) which is very rare compared to other MMO's out there these days. This game can easily be compared to World of Warcraft and Guild Wars. The best part of this game is, it's totally FREE.
This game has 3 servers, 2 containing PK (people kill) and one that is PK free. It also contains PvP (Player versus Player).
You start out with the choices of "Fighter, Musketeer, Scout, Elementalist and Wizards." As your account progresses, you can do quests to claim new characters which can be very useful.
Though the leveling is a bit harder, it can be fun :). As you level up, you can also join raids in clans and conquer colonies every saturday.
Have fun!

The game uses MCC (Multy Character Control) as a main feature, but it's not like you'd expect. MCC is very easy to use, and there are certain modes on the Combat Toolbar to help control all three characters at once.
You can start the game and create up to 15 characters, and recruit Unique Player Characters (UPCs) to join your team as well. Which is kind of fun because you can train different UPCs you liked during their quests or if you think their skill set is uber
.
Sword of the New World is possibly one of the few games that are both fun and have good graphics, you can actually SEE what things are. Everybody talks about the graphics being the best and all, so I'm done with that for now :)
Leveling is pretty easy in this game, you can just press a simple space bar to make your characters auto-attack, or hold CTRL + Click somewhere to kill all the enemies in your path. Getting to level 100 shouldn't take longer than a month, and getting to level 110 could take 1 month+
After you get to Veteran (Which is a promotion you buy after lvl. 100), you have access to joining an endgame clan and killing giant boss battles called "RAIDS" (These magnificent creatures leave gifted gear called Elites).
The PvP is fun in this game, considering you have tons of UPCs and different team combinations, and you have to plan out who to kill first on your enemie's team.
I found SNW to be a fun game, and that is why I still play it.Full size

Pretty, pretty, pretty! After being sick of boring old metal armor on fighters and ugly coats on mages, I was pleasantly surprised
by the beautiful costumes and character designs in this game! There are also different kinds of hats and hairstyles that you can put on your characters.
The game has beautiful graphics with heavy detail, and despite this, there is not that much lag.
What is really unique about this game is the ability to control up to three characters at once! That means you can have a martial artist, a healing character
and a fighter all under your control! That means you can party all by yourself. It's kind of anti social, but, if you like to be alone, then you can.
There isn't really a need to party, but, it helps later on in raids and stuff.
Though I have been playing for a while, I still enjoy all the surprises hidden within the game. There are tons of quests throughout the game and
an extensive story line to keep you paying attention to what is going on. There are tons of NPCs that you can play
as your own characters, but, in order to get mos, you gotta do quests! But, that's half the fun!
I believe that this game is completely worth your time! Go ahead and try it because it's free to play!
And if you want any help, join the Bristia server and look for a family called Dior!
Hope to see you there!

The Multi-Character Control (MCC) system was what swayed me over, though the good graphics and awesome music helped. To be able to assemble and re-assemble my 3-man team (by visiting your quarters and switching characters in or out) was also a definite plus.

I'm going to start out by saying, I love this game. Ever since the last update, they are constantly throwing in new content. Just recently we got a new character called Baek Ho who is a martial artist. Soon they will be adding Calypso a crossbow user, and Claire who uses a cannon and can summon.
For those of you who are not familiar with the game, here are the basics... In this MMORPG you can control up to 3 characters at once. There are so many characters to play as that I wouldn't even bother trying to count them all. In the beginning, you can make a musketeer, fighter, scout (a healer type), elementalist, or wizard. Then, as you level up and do quests you will gain access to new characters. Also, the combat in this game is quite fun. Instead of standing there with your three characters bashing one monster for about 30 seconds and the moving to the next one, you will be fighting hordes of monsters and blasting your way through them. This makes the game a bit more exciting and often keeps the grinding from feeling too painful like it does in many other games.
Of course, there are also clans, clan wars, pvp events, pvp and non-pvp servers, raid bosses, the ability to upgrade weapons and make them glow, etc etc.
Overall, this game is a ton of fun. They release new content very often and it does not take very long at all to level up. I love it.

Intro: Sword of the New World: Granado Espada is Free to Play and has the potential to be one of the best MMORPGs there ever was. Sword (SotNW) takes place around the 1400's, when exploration of the New World was beginning. The storyline does not use actual countries as points of origin but there are obvious analogies to that of Spain, England, Africa, and more.
Starting Out 8/10: There is a short tutorial where you can learn the basics of the game and it is indeed helpful if nothing else. You will learn about MCC, Families, trading, and more.
Gameplay 9/10: SotNW takes advantage of a fairly new system that combines RPG with Strategy, this is called MCC, or Multi Character Control. Instead of playing one character you actually can control up to three, your team is known as a Family. This makes the game very different than others. You can have your own tank, own healer, and own DPS if you choose, or go old style and team up with other families for different roles.
Music and Sound 10/10: Sword without a doubt has by far the best score of music I have ever witnessed in all my gaming years. Currently there are 151 different background songs for you to enjoy as you trek about in the New World. I am quite sure more will be added as well. Each area has approximately three different songs, and, with the "Jukebox" feature, you can control what you listen to. Many of skill sounds and voices are unique and fun to listen to as well. Most versions of Granado Espada use a different set of voices for characters which makes them all different and interesting.
Visual 10/10: Visually, the game is amazing and one of the most seductive looking games you will ever witness. From the players, to the costumes, to the attacks, buffs, monsters, scenery, it all looks quite fascinating.
Grinding 7/10: As many MMO players know, grinding can ruin games and make them boring very quickly. SotNW can be somewhat boring at times once you reach Veteran status (level 100+) because to become even stronger you must grind to Expert status (level 110+). However, leveling from 1-100 is actually quite easy and takes less than 2 months for the average player. Sword also takes advantage of a fairly unique leveling system that involves being AFK. There are several modes of attack, the most loved being the fabled "defend" mode. With defend mode, you can usually AFK within your means and still level up fairly quickly. This factor boosts the Grinding score from 5 to 7 out of 10.
Cash Shop: 7/10: Sword uses a cash shop system that allows players to purchase in game items with the use of real money. Many of the special UPCs (Unique Player Character) must be obtained with cash shop items. While this upsets many members, I believe it is easily understandable that a free game still needs money to operate. However, many of the cash shop items are able to be traded and can be bought from other players with Vis (the Sword currency) if you choose to do so. Certain items that are not able to be traded such as AA (Ancient Area) passes are highly sought after because they enable players to level very fast. Grinding to Expert without taking advantage of the AA is a long long path that many do not wish to walk.
Raiding 8/10: Raiding in general is not terribly difficult although at times it can be. Several raid bosses are found in mass PvP zones which adds a competitive element to the PvE portion of the game. Places like Poison Yard and Secret Temple which are generally for high level players take advantage of these interesting events. Some bosses require special items or other things to summon. Sekhmet for example is the Fire Island raid boss and I don't believe anyone has ever summoned, let alone defeated him.
Closure 8/10: All in all, Sword of the New World is an extremely fun and unique game. With some changes it could be one of the best, however I am unsure of these changes and we will all probably end up having to adapt to things as they are.

Sword of the New World: Granado Espada is a Korean made MMORPG localized in the United States by K2 Network. While the game initially began as a P2P game in the summer of 2007, it has since switched its revenue model to that of a F2P game with cash shop additives acquired through online micro payments. Like many other Korean developed MMORPGs, its defining gameplay fundaments revolve around level and experience grinding, building characters and acquiring gear, and alas, more grinding.
The game is developed by Kim Hakkyu, whom many may recognize as the brainchild of the stupendously popular Korean MMORPG, Ragnarok Online. Likewise, it is of my opinion that fans who have no qualms over painfully slow experience grinding, and further, those who are fans of Ragnarok Online and Lineage II will most likely feel right at home upon start up.
SotNW:Granado Espada distinguishes itself from all of the other MMORPGs out in circulation through its unique and innovative MCC (Multi Character Control) system. Rather than playing as one character within its own 'character account and inventory', you play as a 'family' of characters whom you may each name accordingly but who all share the same surname. You may choose up to three different characters from your family to join your active party, and you're capable of swapping in new characters at any time. Not only does this eliminate the necessity of managing multiple inventories, but also enhances the dynamics of Sword's gameplay by allowing you the freedom of constantly altering your party set up. Playing Sword is very similar to that of playing a Real Time Strategy game, and although the gameplay mechanics may appear daunting at first, I assure you the core fundaments are as simple as pointing, clicking, and pressing space bar.
One very important key feature of Sword of the New World is that of its built in 'defend mode.' If you have a healer, or characters capable of surviving for long periods of time without the need for HP restoration, you can easily park your family in a hostile zone, press space bar, and effectively 'afk level.' Not only is this a tremendous boon to the player in helping to offset the typical MMO grind, but it also allows the player to level more characters faster and with varying degrees of effort.
SotNW has 5 basic classes that you may begin the game with: Fighter, Musketeer, Wizard, Elementalist and Scout. However, the game also supplies you with a plethora of story npcs whom you may recruit into your family after meeting certain conditions or by completeing certain quests. There are easily 30+ UPCs (Unique Playable Characters) for hire, each adding a unique twist to the gameplay, and each bringing with them another small piece of the story of Granado Espada.
The setting of the game is also something to be noted. Rather than a typical swords and castles fantasy setting, SotNW is set in what would look like a parallel of the prime of European Colonization. Pirates, musketeers, and magic users dressed as aristocracy wander and explore a 'New World' filled with bloodthirsty monsters and ripe with mystery all placed within the backdrop of a beautiful Baroque period artstyle.
Given the F2P aspect of this game, I suggest downloading and giving SotNW a try. Its truly a gem of a game among all F2P MMORPGs.

In the digital world of MMOs, full of the same old trolls and ogres, there is an MMO that provides a fresh breath of air.
Set in the age of exploration, Sword of the New World provides a journey about discovering the treasures of a new world.
What sets this MMO apart from others is the revolutionary multi-character control (MCC) system which allows you to have a healer,
a DPS character or a fighter at the same time. No longer will you have to scream, "Fighter, LFG!" or "Healer, LFG!" because you already have one.
Though the MCC control system allows you to level on your own, partying is highly encouraged since it increases your survival against the evils of the new world.
The partying system also is incredibly necessary for raids and wars against other clans.
There is also more than just the basic stock characters; there are also UPC (unique player characters) which are NPCs who have unique skills such as monster summoning, cannon skills,
turret building skills and more!
Unlike many other MMOs, the GMs (or AMs as they are called in this game) are incredibly active both in game and on the official forums. There are also PVP events
hosted by the AMs often, which allows you prove that you are the best of the best.
Over all, the game is well worth your time. The best thing of all is that this amazing graphic-rich game is free to play.

This is a good game with good graphics and allows you to use up to 3 characters at once which is similar to Star Wars the Knights of the Republic gameplay. This game has a lot of areas, monsters ,weapons, and a varitey of characters to use. The game includes a large amount of stances which you can use weapons with rangeing from rifles, staffs, swords, knuckles and much more.Pvp is also included in this game which has player killing, pvp, clan wars, and faction wars which is a battle against clans to claim land to earn the benefit of buffs and money. There are a lot of monsters like regualar, elite, mini boss, boss, raid boss, and the big raid server boss which takes the whole server to work to together to kill which has been realeased out recently and can only be killed once. With the gameplay players are able to afk level which is being able to level while your are afk. The game is also getting updates which include costumes which you can change the look of your characters, more areas, more monsters, items, new features, and new characters. The best part about it, is that its free but has cash shop.

*Overall - f2p. definitely worth trying out.
*Graphics - nice eye candy. i run an old clunker, and it's lag-free aside from large wars.
*Gameplay - MCC system is fun and different. Vary team to suit tactics / playstyle. Gear is very important - new pioneer weapons make it much easier to gear up than previously. Has PvE, PvP, and Euro server.
*PvE - it does get repetitious - but this is a problem with the current generation of MMOs, and not specific to SotNW. the main grind starts at lvl 100. pre-100, the grind isn't that bad since once you get vets, you can pl your lowbies. also there is afk lvling. has raid bosses, etc. new content seems to be geared towards hi-end play. limited number of quests - fairly basic.
*PvP - lots of options. PK, duels, tournaments, large-scale wars, PK zones, etc.
*Support - AMs are very active and friendly on the forums. customer service is okay, but could be improved.
*$$$ Costs - f2p, but cash shop users have advantage / buy buffs / costumes, etc.
*Community - people lvl very quickly out of low lvls. most chat usually in-clan. many afkers, so may not always get a response to a question.
*Misc - need more n00b-friendly website. important info is sometimes scattered around instead of being consolidated into one area where people can check on regular basis.
